Thank you for reading my blog and for joining me on my Creative Arts journey.
I have learnt a lot and it has been a privilege to have the opportunities to
observe in the classroom, participate in the workshops and be a tutor at Sydney
Story Factory. I believe that with experience comes confidence and after
experiencing these workshops, I am keen to utilise what I have learnt on my
practicum.
I agree that it is our role as teachers to “provide authentic
experiences in a variety of challenging art forms that promote individual
invention, aesthetic exploration, and problem solving and skill development”
(Gibson & Ewing, 2011, p.132). And as Ewing (2011, p.42) discusses, by
providing students an opportunity to participate in the process of different
artforms, students are actively involving decision making, taking risks, developing
creative, visual and imaginative thinking and making meaning.
